Pfizer Italy

Pfizer Group is present in Italy since 1955 with two administrative offices in Rome and Milan, while production plants are located in Ascoli Piceno (Marche) and Pisticci in the province of Matera (Basilicata).

It is nvolved in numerous clinical trials to produce data relevant to the registration of medicines worldwide.

The total investment in research made by Pfizer Italia in 2007 was EUR 8.3 million, surpassing the efforts of 2006 during which about 6 million where invested.

With 938 centers involving 70 researchers (43 employees and 27 contract), Pfizer Italia concentrates its research efforts mainly in oncology and as well as infectious diseases, central nervous system, endocrinology, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, Uroginecologia, pain and diseases of inflammatory nature.

The plant in Ascoli Piceno, built in 1972, produces for Italy, the United States and Japan, and is the only worldwide, producing a new drug for the treatment of cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.

The establishment of Pisticci, in the province of Matera is dedicated to the production of anti-infectives.
