Medical Delta
The unique strength of the Medical Delta consortium allows the integration of technology and medical expertise, the most evident product of which is the development of new technology for diagnosis and therapy. However, as care represents 60% of all healthcare costs and as technology can play a vital role in a patient’s swift recovery, the Medical Delta proposal includes the area of care as a major part of the program. In short, our aims are: • Improved, less invasive and earlier diagnosis, which allows earlier and more effective treatment. In some cases it can even prevent disease manifestation.
• Personalized and less invasive therapy, which results in better/more effective treatments with fewer side effects.
• Better after-care and monitoring, which allows patients to recover more quickly and remain healthy, contributing significantly both to patients’ quality of life and the flow-through in the healthcare chain.
Medical Delta activities are organised into three technology-driven themes and one educational program. The themes represent the areas in which the consortium's research excels scientifically and leads to innovations and the associated benefits for healthcare and economic growth. New joint activities are focused on these themes.
