Birth of the Piemont Biosciences Cluster, Bio Industry Park Canavese

Early April, the regional authorities of Piemont officially gave the green light to the cluster Piemonte Biosciences, focused on medical technology (www.piemontebiosciences.org). The cluster, managed by the Bioindustry Park of Canavese (www.bioindustrypark.eu) is composed of 43 enterprises, 3 universities and 10 research centers.
The baby cluster has received a loan 500,000 Euro to support its activities over the next 5 years. The regional authorities also allocate 54 million euros to companies belonging to the cluster to finance the projects of R & D and feasibility studies. These funds must be added the 25 million around the "Technology Platforms Biotech", launched recently, in which the Piedmont Region will support over the next 3-5 years development in the territory of high-tech firms and activities applied research.
