MOH: Basic drugs to be at least 25% cheaper going forward, GBI

Hong Zheng, director of Drug Policy and the Basic Drug System Bureau at the Ministry of Health (MOH), announced August 20 that basic drugs provided to patients at grassroots medical institutions will be at least 25% cheaper than their current price level.
Zheng said that according to national-level pricing bureau estimates, prices for basic drugs will on average be reduced by 10%. Additionally, the zero markup price policy will enable drug prices to be reduced by an additional 15%, bringing the total discount to 25%.
