Minding Chinese minds- Servier and CMA launch joint psychiatric training program, GBI

Servier (China) and the Chinese Medical Association launched their cooperative psychopathology program September 9, according to Sohu Health.

The project will provide continuing education and grants to psychiatrists over a five-year period, as well as distribute financial awards to outstanding psychiatrists. Currently, there are only 16,383 qualified psychiatrists in China--1.26 psychiatrists for every 100,000 residents. (The estimated figure for the US is over 10 psychiatrists per 100,000 residents.)

France-based Servier is a pharmaceutical company mainly engaged in diabetes, rheumatology, cardiology, and affective disorder treatments. According to GBI SOURCE, Servier has 14 registered products in China and has 13 registered brands.
