French major sanofi aventis and American biotech Genzime confirmed today in a joint statement that they had reached a deal for U$20.1 billion in cash plus a contigent value right (CVR).

Each Genzime shareholders will receive $74 per share and a CVR entitling them for more cash under certain conditions.
