AIFA
The Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco (AIFA) is a medical body gets its assignments from the Ministry of Labor, Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. It was established by a regulation, and amended through a ministerial decree.The main purpose of the agency is to coordinate information related to drugs between pharmaceutical companies, doctors and medical sales, hospitals and health facilities local and national.
Another responsibility is to identify the reference prices for drugs in order to ensure a reasonable profit but not excessive to pharmaceutical companies, while making the public expenditure as low as possible.
