Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's development agency that works to stimulate economic growth, improve Scotland’s business infrastructures and support business in the region.

They work in partnership with universities, colleges, local authorities and other public sector bodies to maximize their contribution to the Government Economic Strategy focusing on key sectors with high-growth potential. Amongst these priority sectors are the life sciences.

In supporting the life Sciences Scotland Strategy, Scottish Enterprise is focused on building a sustainable company base across all subsectors, developing more of companies of scale; realising the significant economic benefit from areas of world-class research strengths, such as stem cells and regenerative medicine, and clinical/translational medicine; and capitalising on key opportunities for Scotland in medical technologies and pharmaceutical services.
