BioInItaly 2009: 12 companies participating in the second edition

Milan, 5 May 2009 - Second Edition of BioInItaly gather main Italian Biotech company and investors

BioInItaly was born last year in order to build bridges between innovative Italian biotechnology and nanobiotechnology company and investors from around the world, overcoming the chronic shortage of venture capital in our country.

The 12 applications were successfully evaluated by a Ad hoc Board of industry experts from Assobiotec. During the event these 12 companies were able to present to an audience of a hundred Italian and foreign investors (from Europe, USA) and business development manager for multinational companies.

Thanks to partnership with Bridges to Italy (non-profit association based in California focused on the promotion of relations between the U.S. and Italy), the event in Milan has been connected via webcast, to a virtual audience of about thirty investors and entrepreneurs Americans.

"The results the first edition of BioInItaly generated show us that we are on track with an event of great substance that builds contacts and innovative ideas with the world of potential investors," said Germano Carganico, a member of the Commission Directive Assobiotec and Director General of Toscana Life Sciences, the Science and Technology Park in Tuscany. "The most important achievement is that as a result of BioInItaly 2008 were signed 2 agreements and 10 cooperation agreements between companies."

In this second edition of BioInItaly Innovhub has focused its support on academy sessions for companies intending to invest so that they could get prepared as best they can and present their business ideas to the right audience.
