China CROs meet to discuss industry standards, GBI

The Contract Research Organization Union (CROU) recently held a seminar on formulating industry standards, including regulations for quality management, according to the China High-Tech Industry Herald July 27.According to Yanhua Gong, secretary of the CROU, there are currently no universally-accepted standards in China for Contract Research Organizations (CROs). The Clinical Trial Administrative Conduct, which was discussed at the seminar, will serve as the first industry standard for CROs. Yanbing Xiao, president of Kendle China added that although the standards will not be compulsory, they should be widely adopted because doing so would be advantageous to the whole industry. It is hoped by the CROU that these moves will improve the quality of CRO service in China.
